The Mann Family | Sydney Family Photographer | Elysium Photography

It is always a little nerve-wracking when a fellow photographer asks you to document their family. Thankfully, Shannon and her adorable family completely set me at ease and we spent a magical afternoon tearing around Lennox Bridge.

We had to split their photography session up into 2 parts because our first session there had to be shortened due to maintenance work on the bridge. Shannon wished to capture her breastfeeding journey coming to and end and the close bond shared with their baby girl at this important milestone.

Our second session was timed to coincide with little miss Abigail turning one. It’s amazing how much children can grow and change in such a short period of time, and I feel so blessed that I was able to freeze time for this special little family!

Parents hold hands with their little boy as he giggles with delight

This is my 4th session with this beautiful little family, and every time I see them, I marvel at just how much little Uriah has grown and changed since the last time I photographed him! I first met Nathan and Heidi at the PBC Expo and we booked in their maternity photo session. Just weeks after that, little Uriah was born and I met this sweet newborn baby. This was made even more special with Heidi’s mum visiting from Canada to meet her newest family member. A short 6 months ahead and Nathan’s parents came to visit their grandson all the way from Canada, so we took a trip down to the local beach to photograph a very special family session. Now that Uriah has just turned 18 months, it was delightful to document his transformation from baby to a funny, talkative, affectionate, energetic little boy! We decided to head back to where it all began, at the very same location we used for Nathan & Heidi’s maternity photo session. It is so incredible to witness all of the changes that can happen in close to 2 years!

Cora Turns ONE! | Sydney Family Photographer | Elysium Photography

Sweet little Cora made me work hard for our photo session! She could pull off the best ever Angry Cat impersonation I have ever seen from a one year old. After taking a while to warm up to the funny lady with a camera, we finally got to see her radiant little smile and personality.

Surrounded by lush green paperbark forrest, we enjoyed a rather spectacular golden sunset as Cora enjoyed giggles and games with her parents and we managed to photograph so many adorable expressions. I may have had to pull out all the stops to get the smiles from this little lady, but boy was it worth it!

The Khoury Family | Sydney Lifestyle Photographer | Elysium Photography

Each and every one of my clients are total rock stars with their own unique story for me to capture. Often, I meet an extraordinary family that I just connect with and feel like we have known each other for years – this was one such family!

The bond they shared and their tender, devoted parenting mirrored my approach to my own children. We shared a magical afternoon of fun, laughter, games, cuddles and one EPIC SUNSET!! Their gorgeous boys looked so angelic in the afternoon light, and parents, David and Tania, even snuck in some adorable couples shots. In their questionnaire, Tania noted that the boys are very cheeky and smiley – well they did not disappoint there! Their beautiful little smiles and bubbly personalities had me captivated throughout the entire session!

I am super excited to receive their prints and photo album back from my print lab and to see their stunning images displayed in their home for a lifetime of enjoyment! Thank you so much David and Tania for bringing your gorgeous family my way! xx

Baby Frank | Sydney Lifestyle Newborn Photographer | Elysium Photography

This is the third time I’ve been blessed with documenting this beautiful little family. I first met them when Bella turned one and they wanted to capture the milestone with a photo session. Then again when she turned two, we headed to the beach for a session with sand, sunsets and fun! Now, they have added one more to the tribe – gorgeous little Frank! Our newborn photo session was a hoot, with giggles, bed jumping and a marvellous game of hide and seek under Bella’s blankie! Frank was absolutely not interested in having his scheduled sleep time, but instead wanted to watch my every move, totally transfixed by my camera. He finally gave in to sleep – right in the final 5 minutes of our session!

Thank you again Rignanese Family for inviting me to record so many wonderful memories for you, and for the long chats and coffee!

Baby Evie and Family | Sydney Family Lifestyle Photographer

A family sitting in a grassy field at sunset

From my very first communication with Diane, I just knew this was going to be a fun session! 3 littlies under 3 would mean I’d be kept on my toes! In my client questionnaire, Diane mentioned that “We would like to remember the happiness and youth of our children – like the way they run and play. The way they show each other love. The way we show them love (which as adults they will know but not necessarily remember) – kisses, cuddles etc the joy of us as a family”. Such a great answer! I couldn’t wait to capture this special new chapter for them and convey their relationship and family bond.

Baz and Ivy with their cheeky little smiles and cracker of a personality both had me in stitches with their antics. So full of energy, they had me tearing about this grassy field trying to keep up with them! Then taking energy levels down a notch, they each showed such a tender and caring side towards their little sister, Evie – sitting in mums lap and stroking her head, or gently holding her tiny hands.

Even dad, Glenn, enjoyed the session. He was such a trooper keeping up with the kids energy levels, spinning them around and around, zooming them like aeroplanes – I think he was extremely relieved to sit down for some quiet cuddles after that!

Thank you Diane for bringing your gorgeous little family out for me to photograph! x

Baby Cooper | Sydney’s Inner West Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

Newborn baby boy being held in daddy's hands

At just 18 days new, little Cooper certainly had his charming talents perfected. He was so alert yet calm and relaxed the entire session, that we even managed to capture him in dad’s hands awake and still – not an easy thing, even with a sleepy bub!

I had the pleasure of photographing Jason and Natara when they got married in March 2017, so when I received a message from Natara asking if I would come and capture their newest addition, I was beyond thrilled! Entering their gorgeous home to see so many of my favourite images from their wedding day framed on their walls was so humbling.

Their wonderful home yielded so many amazing little nooks of photographer gold! We shot everywhere – bedrooms, hallway and even the kitchen. Their beautiful loving connections was so perfectly captured in every little moment spend with Cooper. He is truly surrounded by so much love! Thanks Jason & Natara for inviting me to once again capture your books newest chapter! xx

Carter | 9 Month Baby Milestone Session

9 month old baby boy's big blue eyes

I first got lost in these adorably cheeky blue eyes around 6 months ago. Carter had just had his Christening and his mum wanted some shots of him in his gown (which had come all the way from Millan!) before they moved house, so that they could have that memory of him and their time in their home. I was instantly wrapped around his little finger because of his enormous blue eyes and cheeky little grin.

So fast forward 6 months and his stunning mamma Trish called me up and we chatted about how their newborn session had focused on his bond with daddy, but she wanted something special to document her bond with him. We discussed the possibility of creating some sort of Vogue cover shoot capturing mum and bub together. Since I shoot on location and don’t have a studio, we decided to rent this gorgeous little space from Le Petit Studio Blanc and it could not have been more perfect! Carter was his usual charming self and his mum absolutely rocked the glam look!

We shot for around 3 hours and sweet little Carter did not waver at any point during the entire session! He was such a little champ and thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of being in his birthday suit and playing in mum’s massive tule skirt. Thank you so much to Trish & Carter for inviting me to capture this precious bond between you! xx

A big thanks goes out to Le Petite Studio Blanc for the use of this beautiful natural light studio in Surry Hills, Sydney.
